about

A marriage made in a sick techno dream: Dave Foster aka Huren/Teste meets Orphx's Rich Oddie as Ontario Hospital (O/H). 'Future Ready' is one of the strongest Opal Tapes session in ages, pitting Foster and Oddie's hard bitten dancefloor credentials in a British Murder Boys-style mastication of EBM techno gristle and industrial electronics. The rabid title track comes off like CH-BB meets Skinny Puppy in dub, and 'Consumer Report' leans on a gothic industrial halfstep lacerated with yelps of "fxxking sh*tbag", or something to that effect. 'Perfect Skin' is even more miscreant, future primitive, but the biggest highlight is left to the trepanating percussions and incendiary oscillations of 'Bleed Down'. - Boomkat

Canadian producers Rich Oddie and David Foster make their debut as a duo on Opal Tapes. With both of them having a long-standing history in the noisier corners of techno, Oddie as half of seminal industrial techno outfit Orphx, and Foster’s involvement in the no less influential Teste collaboration, it’s surprising their musical paths should only cross now. That their first joint studio effort, however, comes as a match made in power electronics heaven is no surprise. Foster’s heavily distorted spoken word vocals rasp aggressively against Oddie’s dense percussive structures. Acting under the moniker Ontario Hospital, the duo created the album improvising on the Korg MS-20 and Roland 808, with the result of their two main ingredients – skeletal techno and well dosed noise – standing out distinctively against the mix. - Bleep

Blue Monday bollocks - blast this loud - "Fucking shit you out!" - that's what they do - consumer ready - past ready - future ready for snotty electro Punk boys pissing on the corpse of whatever you want destroyed - by numbers Dance Music House Music Techno Music pre-fab Industrial Music - like angry Lee Perry - KIL-L-L-Ler-R-R-R! echo vocal void snub-nosed beat boxing ears - your perfect skin blistered, your manicured nails ripped out, your sculpted eyebrows burnt, your orange tan peeled to reveal an inner plastic shell, your shitty values scorched - your iLife stripped bare in a vat of acid - a syringe in your vanity mainline train line tunnel and there is no light at the end - at the end the just the BOM-BOM-BOM-BOMB bleed down and out... - Include Me Out
